A CONTROLLED explosion has taken place in Faifley after a grenade was found.
At around 1.15pm on Sunday, officers received a call about the explosive device near Edinbarnet Primary on Faifley Road.
Bomb disposal experts rushed to the site and safely removed the device, which was not thought to be live.
The device, thought to be quite old and rusted, had been found on open ground around 300 yards away from the school.
A police spokeswoman said: " Around 1.15pm police received a phone call about a grenade found in open ground at the rear of Edinbarnet Primary School on Faifley Road in Clydebank.
"Explosive Ordnance Disposal officers attended and disposed of the item safely.
"There was no risk to the public."
