Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) removed the stop in December in a bid to speed up services.
However, OAPs living in Pinewood Square sheltered housing complained, saying that they relied on that particular bus stop. They pleaded in the Clydebank Post for it to be returned and their case was taken up by Councillor Malcolm Balfour.
Mr Balfour, a board member of SPT, was able to persuade the transport authority and council road chiefs to place a bus stop back outside Pinewood Square.
Resident Beatrice Tait, 76, thanked the Post for highlighting their concerns and said: “My pensioners and I are glad the bus stop has been moved back to outside our homes. It has benefited all the people who use it here.” Coffee morning
