Councillors agreed to the deal concerning the facility on Great Western Road at a meeting of West Dunbartonshire Council’s (WDC) infrastructure, regeneration and economic development committee last week. It means the new termination date for the lease is now August 2139.
WDC owns 9.34 acres of the land at the complex, while nearly 16 acres are owned by separate landlords.
Operated by Ashtour, World of Golf comprises an all-weather driving range and golf academy. There is also a coffee club restaurant, conference area and an adventure golf course which attracts 35,000 visitors per year.
