The family team effort paid off as the 22-year-old was recently crowned Face of the Globe Scotland at the glitzy Glasgow beauty pageant — and earned two other awards in the process.

The Hardgate stunner will now go on to compete against girls from across the world at the finals in Disneyland Paris.

Last week a delighted Lauren told the Post: “This is only the second big one which I’ve entered and I won.

“My mum helped me get ready. I did my own make-up and she did my hair. She works in Clydebank College as a lecturer in make-up artistry and does a wee bit of hairdressing.

“It was quite special for me because my aunty makes all my dresses as she’s a dress maker and she’s really supportive and comes to everything.

“I was just hoping to get in the top five so when I won I was so happy. My mum does a lot of hard work for me so I was chuffed for her as well.

“I just felt that I acted myself so it was brilliant to win looking back on it.” In addition to scooping the main prize on the night, Lauren also walked away with two other coveted awards — Miss Congeniality, which sees the contestants vote for their own favourite, and Miss Publicity, which is awarded to the girl who gets the most exposure in the build up to the event.

Lauren said: “Miss Congeniality is one of the best awards everyone says there is to win because it’s a nice friendly one. I just acted myself and spoke away to everybody so it was brilliant to win it.” However, despite walking away with three top awards on the night Lauren said she was in no doubt as to what the best part of her recent success was.

She added: “Getting to go to Disneyland Paris is going to be great. I’ve never been in my life and it’s a place I’ve always wanted to go to.

“I’ve wanted to go there since I was young so getting that opportunity is amazing.

“I’ve never done anything like this before so it will be a great experience.”
