Members of Clydebank Senior Citizens Golf Club (CSCGC) raised £230 for Macmillan Cancer Support after receiving donations and charging members £2 to play at Dalmuir Golf Course.

Harold Brady, secretary of CSCGC, said: “Elderly people are often sitting in the house bored out of their minds.

“The club was established to get pensioners off their chairs, get outside and enjoy 12 holes which is what we play. It’s the perfect chance to have a chat and enjoy a round of golf.” Ryan Taylor, regional fundraising manager of Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “We’re very grateful to receive such a generous donation from the gentlemen at Dalmuir Golf Club which will be put to immediate use to help people affected by cancer and their families.” Anyone looking to join the CSCGC should pop into the pro shop at Dalmuir Golf Course or turn up when the club meets on a Tuesday or Thursday morning at 9am.
