The 31-year-old was in Dumbarton Road when he was set upon by a group of men just before midnight on Saturday, July 12.

It’s understood the victim was approached by four men who were travelling a light coloured vehicle.

He was then assaulted and suffered lacerations to his face which are thought to have been caused by a weapon.

The injuries were described as super facial and the man didn’t require hospital treatment but he was extremely shaken by the incident.

Police also believe the man may have been targeted because of his religion as the suspects shouted various sectarian remarks during the assault.

The men are described as being between the ages of 20 and 30 and had local accents.

Clydebank community inspector Coleen Wylie said: “We would appeal to anyone who have information that could help with our enquiries to come forward.” If you can help then contact police on the non emergency number 101.
