Toni Docherty, a third-year pupil at St Peter the Apostle High School, raised £5,700 which will be split between the Beatson Cancer Centre and St Margaret of Scotland Hospice.

Delighted mum Elaine said: “The whole family are so proud of Toni.

“I would like to thank St Peter the Apostle for supporting Toni and making her fund-raising possible, Michelle Mcdade for shaving Toni’s hair and Past Due Credit Solutions for doing a dress down day in which they raised £772.

“We have been overwhelmed by the support that Toni has received from family, friends and many others who donated.” It is the latest in a series of fund-raising bids that have seen the 14-year-old take part in a 5k race and hold a sponsored read with her classmates.
