Last year we revealed how Bankies in need of urgent medical care could soon find themselves receiving life-saving treatment in the town after NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde announced it was reviewing its services throughout the area.
Clydebank MP Gemma Doyle was a driving force behind the idea to get this service initiated while many Forum members, shop owners and residents also got involved by signing a petition.
Meetings were also staged with the government’s health minister and Greater Glasgow and Clyde Hospital Board to try and get this service established at the Jubilee Hospital.
Last week a spokesperson for Clydebank Seniors Forum said: “Hopefully we may hear what definite progress is being made within the near future as we all know the A&E at the Western is scheduled to close by the end of 2015.”
