Firstly Mrs Dingwall scooped the prestigious Scottish Head Teacher of the Year award after she had been nominated by the school’s parent council. She will now go up against other teachers at the UK competition next month. But that’s not the only national competition the school are looking forward to, after S4 pupil Cameron Ironside, was put forward as a finalist for the Young Community Champion category of Scotland’s Unsung Heroes in November.
The 15-year-old has volunteered for the DRC regeneration project for four years as the group try to tackle drug and alcohol addictions by working with schools and youth groups.
Also celebrating was S6 pupil Louise Wylie, who reached the final three of the Amnesty International Young Human Rights Reporter competition.
The 16-year-old had to write a short article on a human rights issue, and was selected out of 800 entries.
