KIND-HEARTED staff at a Whiteinch supermarket went the extra mile to raise money for a national cancer charity.

The dedicated team from Tesco Express on Dumbarton Road raised £261 for Cancer Research following an epic cycle round Milport.

Stephanie Muirhead, Kim Chestnut, Shonaugh Carlin and William Boyle took on the challenge on Sunday, August 19.

And generous customers, family and friends helped to raise the vital cash by throwing money into buckets at checkouts and it will go towards helping the Tesco charity of the year.

Cancer Research UK supports the work of more than 4,000 researchers, doctors and nurses throughout Britain to help fight the disease.

William Boyle, deputy manager told the Post: \"It was a fantastic day had by all and we would like to say a big thank you to all of our customers who kindly donated money.\"
