Citizen of the Year
NOMINATIONS are being sought for this year's Citizen of the Year awards.
West Dunbartonshire Council aims to recognise individuals from Dumbarton and the Vale of Leven who have made a truly outstanding contribution to their community over the past year.
The prestigious award was set up to recognise the commitment and dedication shown by residents who contribute many hours of their own time to help others.
Last year, Rose Hutchison won the award for Clydebank for her work with Mental Health Who Cares?
Provost Denis Agnew said: "We all know people who give so much back to their communities but they don't always get the recognition they deserve.
"This is an excellent opportunity for members of the public to acknowledge that commitment, dedication and hard work and thank them for the many hours they have given for the good of others."
Nominations will close on Friday January 27 and entries will be considered by a panel of judges representing the public, private and voluntary sectors in the town.
If you know someone who deserves a public pat on the back, please send your nomination to Provost Denis Agnew, Citizen of the Year Award, Council Offices, Rosebery Place, Clydebank, G81 1TG or fax your entry to 01389 738706.
A civic reception and presentation will be held by Provost Agnew to mark the occasion with the winners' family and invited guests to the reception.
