A CLYDEBANK nursery is to be congratulated for its achievements.

Kilbowie Early Education and Childcare Centre was assessed by the council's Quality Improvement Service (QIS) in November, following on from an HMIe visit in December 2010.

HMIe praised the nursery and asked it to "maintain the high quality of provision" and "make further developments to aspects of the work of the centre".

In a report going before the council's Education Committee on January 11, the QIS states that "very good progress has been made. The centre had also made significant progress in demonstrating continuous improvement."

The document added: "The children at Kilbowie Early Education and Childcare Centre are benefiting from high quality learning experiences which will be a strong foundation for their future education."
