IT'S time to take the decorations down - if you haven't done so already - and here is a list of where you can dispose of your real Christmas trees and cards.

You can either cut it up and place it into your brown recycling bin or taking it to Household Waste Recycling Centres at Ferry Road and Dalmoak.

The opening times are as follows:

Ferry Road, Old Kilpatrick

October - March

8.00am - 5.45pm Monday to Sunday

Dalmoak, near Renton

October - March

8.00am - 5.45pm Monday - Sunday

The trees collected in the brown bins or taken to the recycling centres are sent for composting.

In addition Christmas cards can be placed in the blue recycling bins, although cards decorated with glitter cannot as this causes problems at the paper mill. Most Marks & Spencer Stores have Christmas card recycling collection boxes on behalf of the Woodland Trust as an alternative.
