A TERRIFIED shop worker was threatened by an armed raider who demanded cash from the till.

The RS McColl in Drumchapel Shopping Centre was targeted by the thief in broad daylight on Sunday.

Police believe a customer who was in the shop just before the robbery took place could hold the key to catching the man responsible and are asking any witnesses to come forward.

The thief entered the shop around 1.05pm and threatened staff with a knife.

He was handed a three-figure sum of money before making off.

It is believed he ran out of the shop, which looks on to Kinfauns Drive, across the road and off towards the direction of the Linkwood flats.

No-one was injured but a member of staff was left badly shaken.

The man police are looking for is described as 5ft 9ins, between 30 and 35-years-old, of medium build, with short brown hair and a Glasgow accent.

He was wearing a white skip cap and a black Superdry jacket at the time of the incident.

DC Ashley Moody, from Drumchapel police office, is appealing for anyone who saw the man or who has any other information to come forward.

She said: "I would appeal to anyone who saw anything or who has any information that may assist our enquires to contact Drumchapel police office."

Anyone with information can contact Drumchapel police on 0141 532 3600 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.
