Jonathon Kelly, 33, failed to comply with conditions upon his release from Low Moss Prison last month.
There have been no positive sightings of Kelly and police say he is now unlawfully at large.
Officers have warned members of the public not to approach Kelly — but immediately dial 999.
Kelly is described as white, 5ft 9 with short brown hair and heavily built.
Detective Inspector Ian Hylands, Drumchapel Police Office, said today(Thursday): “Although not considered a danger to the public, we believe that due to circumstances that Mr Kelly may pose a risk.
“Significant police enquiries are ongoing to trace him, however, at this time there have been no positive sightings so far.
“I would appeal to Mr Kelly to give himself up and contact with Police Scotland with a view to handing himself in.
“I would also like to reassure people that Police Scotland will have an increased high profile police presence in the Drumchapel area until he is traced and arrested."
Anyone with any information should call 101 but to contact police immediately via 999 if sighted.
