New baby is a knockout
Bankie boxer Gary McArthur might have lost the most tiring fight of his life last month, but judging by the smile on his face, he couldn't be happier.
Gary, 29, stepped into the ring as a contender for a Scottish title fight just hours after the birth of his baby girl Millie.
The 'Clydebank Blitz' may not have taken the title of Scottish Light-Welterweight champion from Stuart Green in Glasgow's Radisson Hotel, but he's over the moon about his new title of dad.
This week he spoke to the Post about settling into his new role.
Gary brightly told the Post: "Nothing I have ever achieved compares to this.
"It's incredible."
Millie, who weighed in at 7lbs 7oz, is now happy at home with dad and mum Maxine after safely arriving nine days overdue.
The first time dad said: "She's such a content baby. She's sleeping well, she's eating well and the midwives are really pleased with the progress that both Millie and Maxine are making.
"I've settled in really well to be honest, but I'm a bit nervy because she is my first child.
"I'm really lucky to have Maxine here, I'd be lost without her.
"The best thing about being a dad is just knowing that there's someone who needs you and depends on you."
When asked about how he will manage to juggle training and fatherhood, Gary added: "It's going to be tough, but my family is my first priority at the moment."
There are plans in motion for fights to be lined up within the next few months, however, the boxer's enjoying getting to know his blue eyed baby girl for the time being.
