Organisers of Centre 81’s 10th gala day say they are “delighted” with the response from the community.

There was plenty going on at the centre in Whitecrook on Saturday, August 4, including live music, dancing, carnival rides, face painting, food, various stalls, a bouncy castle and more.

Visitors were also able to pet animals such as snakes, tortoises and rabbits.

The annual event that engages with the community was even “bigger and better” this year as the centre celebrated its 10th anniversary.

Michael McLaughlin, digital connector, told the Post: “The gala day was a terrific success, it was great to see so many members of the community celebrate all the good things that happen in the area and we look forward to next years.”

He added: “We had a couple of staff members collecting feedback and lots of people mentioned how much they enjoyed the day. People in the community look forward to it.”

Centre 81, in partnership with Clydebank East Community Council, organised the event.
