A 23-YEAR-OLD Clydebank man, who beat up his partner in a prolonged and violent attack, will learn his fate when he returns to court next month.

Jonathan Allan, of Crescent Court, The Crescent, carried out the assault at the family home on July 15, this year.

Allan pleaded guilty at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm.

He admitted shouting and swearing at her and acting in an aggressive manner towards his partner.

The court then heard how he assaulted her by head-butting her, seizing her by the body and throwing her over a bed, causing her to strike her head on a wall.

Allan continued the attack by throwing a bag and a plastic bottle at his girlfriend, which struck her on the head and body.

He then seized her by the neck and lifted her off of the floor.

Sheriff John Hamilton deferred sentence on Allan, a first offender, until September 7, to obtain a full social background report. Bail was continued.
