Recently, pupils from Edinbarnet Primary and St Joseph’s Primary teamed up to enter a competition within Scotland.

Several schools in Scotland have participated so it will be an arduous task to attempt to win. Our task is to design a pallet to put in our secret garden. The winning pallet will get a prize and the pallet will be placed in the secret garden located in Faifley.

A big “good luck” to everyone that is participating and we can’t wait to see this secret place look even better than it does just now.

Our netball team received some good news this week. Recently they became the champions of the B league. They have remained undefeated throughout the year and are now through to the West Dunbartonshire Council Final.

In this final they will compete against other winners from Alexandria and Dumbarton. Overall it has been a good week for sports as our rugby team also gained success. They played in a festival and came first place out of ten different teams. They got the shield which they keep until

the next festival and they also got medals.

As our weather has been so good recently, lots of our classes have been taking advantage of that. Over half of our classes have taken on the challenge of doing the Daily Mile. This is where we walk a mile a day, which for us is a few laps around our biggest playground. The Daily Mile is make sure our physical, social, emotional and mental health is looked after. It helps keep us healthy and active plus we enjoy getting outside.

On the subject of exercise, recently one of our P5 pupils, Marley MacDougal, did the Kiltwalk, she walked the whole way with her mum. She said her feet were very sore but it wasn’t as bad as she thought. She even made it into school the next day.

This is a huge achievement for someone so young and we are very proud of her. Well done Marley.

As we are getting so close to the end of the year, our P7s have been getting very involved with their high schools. They have been visiting their schools and were even given a timetable to show them how a day in high school looks.

Some of them were nervous but most of them came back and said it wasn’t as scary as they thought it was going to be. Across last week and this week our classes are going on their summer trips.

P4-7 went to Mugdock Country Park for the day on Wednesday and next Friday P1s and 2s are going to Briarlands Farm. The P4s to 7s had a

ball at Mugdock Park, playing games, going on the jungle gym and fishing.

Edinbarnet Editors will be back next month for their final article before the summer holidays begin.
