A DALMUIR slimmer who tipped the scales at more than 21 stones is living life in the fast lane after an amazing weight loss.

Esther McNiven, who struggled doing the simplest day-to-day activities, has turned her life around after shedding almost nine and a half stones – almost half her weight – with Slimming World.

And now Esther is able once again to experience the exhilaration of joining her hubby on motorbike trips.

She told the Post: “I used to love going on the back of my husband’s motorbike but I had stopped as getting on and off was so difficult.

“Now there is no stopping me, it’s amazing how much more I’m enjoying life.”

And it’s not just the open road that is calling Esther, who puts her success down to Slimming World’s food optimising plan. Fashion stores are a big lure once again.

She said: “Clothes shopping is my new favourite thing to do instead of looking in shop windows and dreaming. I’m now living the dream and I’m in the shops buying colourful close fitting tops and dresses. I’ve also found a love for flattering underwear.”

Esther now feels so passionately about Slimming World and the help given to her by consultant Laura Martin that she is taking what she said feels like “the next natural step” and is just back from the group’s academy in Derbyshire where she trained to becoming a consultant herself.

She said: “I’m so excited to help others the way Laura helped me, and I can’t wait to relaunch the Whiteinch Group.

Looking back, Esther said she felt apprehensive and scared on the first morning when she walked through the doors of her local Slimming World group in Clydebank.

“I was embarrassed at my size and I didn’t really know what to expect, but I really needn’t have worried,” she said.

“Laura was there to meet me at the door, and she made me feel welcome and at ease straight away.

“A huge wave of relief came over me, I was going to be OK, this lady was going to help me.”

Esther was delighted at just how much she could eat with the food optimising plan.

She added: “I soon discovered it wasn’t a diet at all but a healthy eating plan, a lifestyle change.

“At Slimming World I can still eat and enjoy all the food I love with the help of the other group members during the weekly meetings.

Slimming World’s Whiteinch meetings will take place on July 19 at 5.30pm and 7.30pm in St Paul’s Church Halls, 1213 Dumbarton Road.
