Actor Rupert Everett has paid tribute to Glasgow's Citizens Theatre ahead of the building's closure to undergo a two-year redevelopment.
Everett is putting his support behind the Citizens’ fundraising campaign to help preserve the theatre he called home during the 80s.
The 59-year-old English actor and writer was a mainstay of the theatre during the 1980s, starring in The Vortex production in 1988.
Everett is in town to promote The Happy Prince, a biographical film about Oscar Wilde which he has written and directed and also stars in.
Critics have called the film "flawless" and "the best thing Everett has done".
The film features a stellar supporting cast of British actors including Colin Firth, Emily Watson, Colin Morgan and Edwin Thomas.
The redevelopment of the theatre, which opened in 1878, will provide new learning spaces, rehearsal rooms, and a larger studio theatre.
