Linnvale Primary pupils are rocking their way to a world without bullying.

Last week P1-7 children were rehearsing for a performance today with Rookie Rockstars, a band teaching youngsters to be musicians to boost their confidence.

The five songs - plus dancing - is intended to inspire children to be kind to others, to persevere and to never give up.

Tia McAdam, P4/5 pupil, told the Post: “It’s fantastic and shows the point of being kind.”

Fellow classmate Liam Stevenson said: “It’s about happiness and forgiveness and shows the way to be kind to others."

Emily Hay added: “It teaches you to not be a bully to other people because it hurts their feelings.”

The five songs learned by the pupils last week were: “Never Give Up”, “Let’s All Be Friends”, “I’m So Glad”, “Bullies Ain’t Big” and “Hey, Hey (I’m Ok)”.

Dances included the penguin dance, the floss and air guitar solos.

Pupils also recorded the songs last week so parents can buy them.

Alayna Akkurt said: “I really liked it and it was really fun. And I think the funny bit is the part where it was ‘challenge time’.”

One of the challenges included turning youngsters into mummies, and a rap battle.

Craig Devlin said after the rock songs the pupils did parts of pop songs.

He added: “It was a bit loud. I enjoyed it.”
