NURSERY pupils have been celebrating their tremendous fundraising efforts as they presented a cheque to Glasgow Children’s Hospital.

Rowena Nursery picked the charity as one of their colleagues, Christina Cameron and her partner Steven Joyce, were being supported at the hospital with their new born son Cameron Joyce.

The nursery was already passionate about care for youngsters and held a coffee day for families to show off their baking skills to raise funds and bring together the community for a good cause.

They raised £405.87 from the day and another £1,400 from a JustGiving page – with every penny presented to the hospital charity.

And Christina and baby Cameron both managed to join in for the coffee day and the check presentation earlier this month to show their appreciation.

Community nurse Sheena visited from the hospital to accept the cheque and thank the nursery for their efforts.

Cath Kelly, head teacher at Rowena Nursery, told the Post: “I am absolutely delighted at how our families and the local community pulled together with the families in the isles of Tiree to raise to raise such a large amount of money. On behalf of baby Cameron and his parents I thank you all.”
