WOMEN strutted their stuff on the catwalk in Clydebank as a social group held a special fashion show on Monday.

Around 60 people were treated to an exhibition of clothes from Clyde Shopping Centre’s Bonmarché at the Tower Centre.

The annual event, held from 2pm to 4pm, was incorporated into Kilbowie St Andrews Parish Church monthly CAMEO (Come and meet each other) afternoons.

Sally-Ann Poole, the organiser, said it was an opportunity for people to come along, have a natter and make new friends.

She told the Post: “I started CAMEO up four years ago with the aim that people could come and meet each other and enjoy a cuppa and home baking.

“When organisations are finished, there is nowhere to go. It is not just for church members, it is for anyone who would like to come along.

“There is a team of six and we take turns coming to give a hand and also help with the baking.”

Charlene McLean, the assistant manager of Bonmarché, said the fashion show was a great opportunity for staff from the store to meet local people.

She said: “It means we get out into the community to meet our customers.

"This is the third time we have done this and it’s always a success.”
