FORMER England captain Wayne Rooney is one of the bookies' favourites to become the first player to be signed for Rangers by new manager Steven Gerrard.
McBookie and BetVictor have the 32-year-old Everton attacker priced at 10/1 to be the first arrival at Ibrox when the new manager takes the reins at Ibrox in June.
And Oddschecker says Rangers are second favourites to sign Manchester United’s highest ever goal scorer, in this summer’s transfer window.

Gerrard’s new-look team are only behind ‘Any MLS club’ (7/4) in the Oddschecker betting, with Rangers as short as 10/1 to get their hands on the English striker (best price 20/1).
Fenerbahce and Slovakia defender Martin Skrtel (4/1) is the most-likely player to join the Liverpool legend at Rangers, according to McBookie and BetVictor. But his Turkish club have already said they are in no rush to sell him.
Rooney who was reportedly currently in “serious talks” about signing for MLS franchise DC United in the summer window, was second in the first player through the door running according to BetVictor, followed by former Chelsea and England star John Terry (12/1) and Crystal Palace and Scotland midfielder James McArthur (12/1).

Oddschecker spokesman George Elek said: “They may have always been bitter rivals for the clubs, but Rooney and Gerrard were international teammates for a long time and the betting suggests the new Rangers boss could be interested in taking England's record goal scorer to Scotland.”
