A HEARTBROKEN man was so upset when his partner dumped him he began punching walls, a court has heard.

Neil Fazakarley, 29, was at home with the woman in Dumbarton Road, Clydebank, around 8pm on March 16 when she told him she wanted to end the relationship.

He left the property and returned a couple hours later, letting himself in, heavily intoxicated. The woman allowed him to stay in another room.

Fiscal depute Sarah Healing said: “Around 10.15pm, she was woken by him shouting and repeatedly punching walls within the property.

She was concerned as to how this matter might develop and was not entirely sure how to deal with it.

“She went to the room to ask him to leave.”

There was a “verbal exchange” and Fazakarley, of Brown Street, Port Glasgow, began shouting and swearing and behaving aggressively before finally leaving.

He could then be heard outside the house still shouting and swearing and then kicked the front door.

Police soon arrived, arresting Fazakarley and finding his now ex to be shaking, crying and in a state of panic. There were holes in the walls.

Defence solicitor Danielle Docherty told the court the relationship was “in difficulty” at the time and he was drinking to excess.

She added: “He has come to learn he should not drink alcohol. He has not had a drink since March 16.”

Sheriff John Hamilton deferred sentence for two months for Fazakarley to behave himself and confirm his current employment.
