The area’s musically-talented youngsters united to entertain a packed Clydebank Town Hall recently for the West Dunbartonshire Instrumental Music Service’s Spring Concert.

The concert featured stirring performances from the five main authority-wide ensembles: the Training Concert Band, the Training String Orchestra, the Senior Concert Band, the Senior String Ensemble and the Funk sKool.

Clydebank High and St Peter the Apostle High took part along with pupils from Carleith, Edinbarnet, Gavinburn, Goldenhill, Kilbowie, Linnvale, Our Holy Redeemer, St Mary's and St Eunan's primaries at the March 22 event.

Solo talent was also given a platform on the night, with performances from singer Caitlin O’Sullivan, flautist Sophie Morris, Lewis Morgan on the trombone, and Bronwyn Stewart on the euphonium.

Neil McAllister, senior instructor at the Instrumental Music Service, told the Post: “The concert was exceptionally well received by the near sell-out audience, and I have received many messages of congratulations since.”
