A WHITECROOK man who attacked his father by throwing a plant pot at him has been told he’ll go to prison if he misses any more court-ordered appointments.
Martin Reilly appeared in the dock last Friday for sentencing after pleading guilty at an earlier court hearing to assaulting his father in the incident at an address in the town’s Dean Court on August 10 last year.
Reilly, 27, had also admitted further charges of shouting, swearing, threatening violence, making offensive remarks and damaging a window by throwing plant pots at it in the course of the same incident.
Solicitor Scott Adair told Dumbarton Sheriff Court it was “not ideal” that his client had missed an appointment with social workers because he had secured work in Aberdeen which had now come to an end.
Sheriff John Hamilton told Reilly: “This is a court report, ordered after you pleaded guilty. You do not arrange it at your convenience.“You’re old enough to understand the consequences of your actions. I’ll give you one last chance to attend – if you don’t you will appear again before this court and you’ll be remanded.”
The Meldrum Street resident will return to court on April 13.
