Commonwealth athlete Jade Nimmo helped children at Clydemuir Primary School work up a sweat during a sponsored workout last Thursday.
The whole school took part in the exercise session with the heptathlete, which involved all kinds of exercises including sit ups, press ups, leg drives and star jumps.
After the session, Jade talked about her training regime, competitions and answered some of the pupils’ questions.
The session was organised by Sports for Schools, an organisation dedicated to encouraging children to live a healthy life and inspire, challenge, and encourage them into sport.
The funds raised by the workout will go towards PE equipment for the school.
A separate amount goes towards Sports for Schools and supporting the Commonwealth, Olympic, Paralympic, and Invictus athletes they work with.
Sports for Schools visits more than 1,300 schools every year with an athlete accompanied by a “Sportivator” who helps lead the activities.
