THE family of Paige Doherty have paid tribute to their “angel” with a rainbow headstone.

Parents Pamela and Andy Munro spent almost two years custom designing the stone in honour of their beloved 15-year-old daughter.

The stone quotes the heartbreaking words 33-year-old Pamela recited at the Whitecrook teenager’s funeral in April 2016, encouraging everyone to remember her “with a smile”.

It continues: “Our beautiful little angel Paige Doherty. Gained her angel wings too soon, 15-years-old.

“Forever missed daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend.

“Safe in the arms of Granny Doherty, the missing piece of our family never to be replaced or forgotten.”

The design features a rainbow covering the stone alongside two hearts which read “Glasgow’s angel” and a logo for the charity created by the Munro’s in honour of the teen, Paige’s Promise.

Two ballet shoes are placed at each side alongside two ornaments, a heart and a butterfly.

Underneath the stone is four small spotlights which will light up at night.

The stone comes just before the second anniversary of the teen’s death on March 19, 2016.
