PUPILS from Clydebank schools joined hundreds of others in a special “big sing” in Glasgow last week.
P5 and P6 youngsters from St Eunan’s Primary along with friends from Bonhill, St Kessog’s and St Michael’s all went to Glasgow Royal Concert Hall for the UNESCO City of Music event.
Led by Christopher Bell, artist director of the National Youth Choir of Scotland (NYCoS), they performed four songs, one of which was composed specifically for the launch by Scottish singer and song writer Alan Beck.
Gayle Gorman, Education Scotland chief executive, said: “Singing is an important contributor to the development of transferable skills across the curriculum and I look forward to seeing the resource being used in early learning and childcare settings and primary schools.
“As we celebrate the Year of Young People, I’m delighted that such a large number of pupils had the opportunity to take part in the singing lesson. Well done to those who took part.”
