A HARDGATE man who dedicated six decades of his life to the Boys’ Brigade has been honoured for his contribution.
Hugh Hutchinson, 67, was presented with the British Empire Medal (BEM) at a recent ceremony in Clydebank Town Hall.
Mr Hutchinson started with the Life Boys when he was eight and continued to work with the Boys’ Brigade ever since.
As a life-long sports fan, he is also president of the Vale of Leven Cricket Club, where he was the treasurer for 40 years.

A DRUMCHAPEL Foodbank worker has nabbed a top award for his other job – as Scotland’s best hip-hop artist.
Ryan McGeady, whose mum Liz founded the foodbank, was given the honour at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards (SAMA) last week.
Known as Kid Robotik, he told the Post he has now spent 13 years writing hip-hop – half his life – but was still shocked to win the solo artist prize.

PLANS to set up an arts academy at a Clydebank gallery were unveiled as founders celebrated its first birthday this week.
Awestruck Gallery, off Kilbowie Road, held the anniversary gathering on Friday with a host of artists and members of the community.
Allan Rutherford used the event to reveal plans to expand its reach even further to the next generation of artists by setting up an academy at the centre.
