A DUNTOCHER man who admitted being in possession of £15,000 in the proceeds of crime will have to wait until next month to be sentenced due to delays in preparing social work reports on criminals.

David Grant, 28, of Auchentoshan Avenue, was due to be sentenced on Friday for an offence under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.

But his solicitor told a court hearing that there was no report available through no fault of his client.

Sheriff William Gallacher told the lawyer: “I can’t depart from the request [to allow more time for the report to be written]. It is very unfortunate that this situation arose in a way that could not have been conveyed to anyone.

“I regret that you, and Mr Grant, were required to attend today.”

Grant had previously pleaded guilty to taking delivery of, and conveying, £15,000 in a motor vehicle in Auchentoshan Avenue on June 9, 2016. He will return to court for sentencing on February 2.
