AN 87-YEAR-OLD woman has been reported to the procurator fiscal for allegedly stealing two pairs of leather gloves.

The alleged theft happened around 11am on December 30 in Primark in Clydebank.

In a separate incident, a 46-year-old woman was arrested for the alleged theft of six pairs of boxer shorts and candles from Watt Brothers around 4pm on December 31.

A 34-year-old woman has also been reported to procurator fiscal for the alleged theft of two packets of air fresheners and a DVD player around 6.30pm on January 4 in Asda.

Two days later, a 48-year-old man was arrested for the alleged theft of a red Compass bike from Go Outdoors around 1.30pm.

On Sunday, around 10.30am, there was a theft of two quilt covers from Dunelm in Clydebank. Police are appealing for information and said the male suspect was described as aged 33-37, about 5ft8ins tall, thin build, with black hair and wearing a black bomber jacket.

He had an orange carrier bag.

At 12pm that day, about £138 in household goods were stolen from Asda by a man described as aged 27-32, with a heavy build, dark brown hair, wearing a red track suit top, black bottoms and red trainers.

Police are also appealing for witnesses to a shoplifting of alcohol from the Co-op in Dunn Street around 9.30pm on January 2.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to contact police on 101.

Meanwhile, officers are following a positive line of enquiry for the theft of two vacuum cleaners and a steam cleaner around 11pm on January 7. The male suspect left with the items in a trolley, put them in a Vauxhall Astra and drove off.
