A BODY found in Dumbarton on Monday has been confirmed as that of missing man Scott McSporran.
It is understood the discovery was made Monday, January 8 in the Brucehill area of Dumbarton, near to Ardoch Crescent where the 42-year-old was last seen by his brother on December 29.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A formal identification has now taken place and we can confirm that the body is that of Scott McSporran who had been missing from the Clydebank area since Friday, December 29,2017.
"Relatives are aware.
"A post mortem will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death, which officers are treating as unexplained at this time.
"A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
