A SCHOOLGIRL from Goldenhill Primary has been commended after her design was named as the runner-up in an MSP’s Christmas card competition.

Robyn Russell was named as one of the top entries in Maurice Golden’s competition to find a sustainable eCard design, with the central message of reducing Christmas waste.

Erin Daly from Bridge of Weir was named as the winning entry, while Harry Provan from Bridge of Weir Primary was also named as a runner-up entry.

Maurice Golden MSP said: “There were some fantastic entries into my 2017 eCard competition. Pupils put a lot of thought into how we could make Christmas traditions more sustainable and suggested these through some excellent illustrations.

“Thank you to everyone who participated, and congratulations again to our winners!”
