Pupils at Clydemuir Primary School were limbering up for Christmas as they took part in the recent Santa Dash event.

The dash saw children from every class running a mile around the school’s grounds along with parents and loved ones, as well as being encouraged to dress up to get into the festive spirit.

The school said it was a Christmas twist on their traditional health and wellbeing efforts, with the pupil’s regular daily mile being made extra special in time for the holiday period.

For the event, a mile was worked out around the school’s playground and pitch, with classes of all ages going around in turns every 20 minutes, before receiving a snack and heading back to class.

The Santa dash was also part of the school’s fundraising programme, and was tied in with the annual Christmas fair, where a range of home baking and festive gifts were on offer.

In total, the festive calendar of events raised £2,000 for school funds.
