A YOKER Parish Church fair has raised more than £1,430 towards maintenance work on the building.
Top attractions at the Christmas Bazaar on Saturday included home baking, crafts and homemade jam, while Santa wowed the little ones. Local businesses also pulled together to donate prizes to the Hawick Street church’s raffle.
Staff at the Snowman-themed event declared it a huge success and the group can’t wait to get started on planning for next year’s extravaganza.
A spokeswoman told the Post: “It was very busy and it was very successful. Santa went down really well with the kids, which was fab.
“We didn’t expect as many people. People were coming across from 10am and it was like that until about 1.30pm.
“It was a very good day, we were absolutely over the moon with what we raised.”
