A CLYDEBANK dance troupe has brought home the gold after travelling more than six hours to show off their moves.

The 13 lucky dancers from Kilbowie Road’s Dance Off Academy packed their bags and made the journey to Wales last month to become champions.

And they succeeded, with 12 youngsters making it in to the top three, seven winning their divisions, and two being declared overall winners for their age range at the Dance Factor Championships.

Proud owner of Dance Off Academy, Lesley Farmer, told the Post: “Our youngest competitor, at only six years old, won the under-eight intermediate slow dance section and our under-14 hip hop winner and under-14 starter slow dance winner, after amazing wins, went on to win the overall award for their sections.

“A fantastic weekend was had by all and we’re extremely proud of the parents and teachers.”

The group’s next big event will take them to Dunoon later this month to compete in the Argyle Championships.

Lesley would like to thank MMG Contracts Ltd and Hardgate Painters for their assistance in funding the dancer’s uniforms.
