A DALMUIR man stole a quantity of electrical goods just 11 days after being released from a prison sentence.

Scott McSporran pleaded guilty at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday, when he appeared from custody.

McSporran, 42, of Durban Avenue committed the theft last week, on October 27, when he stole the goods from the Semichem store in Sylvania Way.

He was on bail, the order having been imposed on him on February 28, this year, at Dumbarton Sheriff Court.

Defence lawyer Scott Adair told the court: “My client pleads guilty and accepts the previous convictions tabled. He became at liberty on October 16, 2017. His record goes back some time and has relapsed into drugs. He is due to appear at court this Friday on another matter with a view to a drug testing and treatment order (DTTO).”

Sheriff William Gallacher deferred sentencing. McSporran was remanded in custody.
