POLICE are investigating a serious assault on Sunday morning in Faifley.

A 27-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after officers were alerted to an “altercation” around 3.30am.

The incident between two men near a set of garages in Faifley Road, near Watchmeal Crescent, also saw a 27-year-old woman present at the time. She was with the victim but not involved in the disturbance, said police.

Officers have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area and are checking for any relevant CCTV footage.

The suspect is described as white, around 5ft9ins to 5ft10ins in height with a stocky build and was clean shaven. He has blonde hair, which is shaved at the sides and longer on top and was wearing a navy blue top.

Detective Constable Jonathan Campbell said: “We believe the altercation between the two men began outside garages in Faifley Road, however it continued a further 100 yards up Faifley Road.

“We are working to establish the motive for the attack and I’m appealing to local residents in that area to contact us. I appreciate many will have been asleep at the time but I’m asking them to get in touch if they heard anything or if they have any information or knowledge about the incident.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call officers at Clydebank police station on 101, quoting incident number 0908 of Sunday, October 8, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
