A MISSING woman from Edinburgh has been spotted in Knightswood.

Fiona McMaster vanished on Tuesday, August 8, at around 4.40pm from outside a Marks and Spencer store on Morningside Road in the capital.

The 41-year-old has failed to return home or make contact with family or friends since, despite a CCTV sighting of Fiona at Edinburgh Bus Station around midnight on August 11.

But enquiries have now revealed she may have travelled to the Knightswood area.

She was seen in the presence of a man, while buying food items from the Clydebank Co-Operative Key Store in Great Western Road on August 12.

Edinburgh police are now urging anyone who can recognise the unidentified man to come forward.

An image of the male she was with has now been issued and anyone who can help us identify this individual, or assist in locating Fiona is asked to contact police immediately.

Inspector Graeme Nisbet from St Leonards Police Station said: "As part of our ongoing investigation we are eager to trace this male and Fiona as soon as possible, to ensure Fiona is safe and well.

"We ask anyone who may have seen Fiona or they believe they know where either Fiona, or this man, can be found is urged to come forward.

"I would also ask that Fiona get in touch with us, or with family or friends, and let us know she is alright."

Fiona is described as white, around 5ft 7ins tall with a heavy build and shoulder length dark brown curly hair.

She was last seen wearing a red fleece with a grey jumper, a pink t-shirt underneath and grey trainers. She was also carrying a dark rucksack and a large shopping bag.

In a statement issued through Police Scotland, Fiona’s mother said: "Fiona has now been missing for a week and we are desperate to find her as quickly as possible.

"If you see this message, please come home or contact us, we just want to know that you're okay and to let you know you can come home.

"I would also like to thank everyone who has assisted in the search to find Fiona.

"I would ask everyone to keep sharing Police Scotland's appeal and that if you are travelling across the Central Belt this week to look for Fiona and contact police if you see her."
