A DALMUIR man handed a community payback order for an attack on his partner and police have been praised for his progress.

Kyle McCreadie was convicted earlier this year after he punched his partner and subjected her to threatening and abusive remarks in an incident at Cleddans View, Drumry, on February 28.

McCreadie, 22, then attacked two police officers called to the incident.

McCreadie, of Park Court, appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court for a review of the order on Friday, when his solicitor said a report on his progress was “in very good terms”.

Sheriff Maxwell Hendry told McCreadie: “It’s immediately obvious that you are living in a far more intelligent and sensible way. You are looking after yourself and making good decisions, not bad decisions.

“This could be a challenging time for you.”

He added: “It would be disastrous if you were to revert to previous habits. I suspect it would lead me to send you to prison.”

McCreadie’s will next appear on October 18.
