A BANKIE plumber has made it through to the UK final to compete as Britain’s top tradesperson.

Lluis Dalmau won the regional finals to go through as one of the last eight with a prize of a new Toyota Proace or Hilux.

Nearly 5,000 tradespeople entered the Screwfix-run competition with the final at Wembley Stadium on July 20.

Lluis, 42, trades under the name LCD Heating and Gas Services and started as an apprentice in 1991.

He told the Post: “My main priority is making sure all my customers are satisfied with the work I do for them on and after the job is done.

“I’m very lucky to have a job I love so much – no two days are the same and it gives me great satisfaction seeing projects through from start to finish.

“To make it through to the national finals is such an honour and would not only be great for my business but would also be great for my customers. I look forward to competing for the title of Britain’s Top Tradesperson against other like-minded tradespeople.”

Graham Smith, Screwfix marketing director said: “Lluis and all our finalists have demonstrated their willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done and I look forward to meeting them all at the final.”

“This competition is about highlighting and rewarding the best tradesperson in the UK. We are proud to be celebrating the hardworking individuals within the industry in the eighth year of our competition.”
