A TEEN has been arrested for the murder of Clydebank mum Janice Farman just one day after another suspected is alleged to have confessed to the crime.
The BBC reports the arrest of 18-year-old Anish Soneea, from Quatre Bornes, which follows a court appearance by two other men on the Indian Ocean island on Tuesday.
Ravish Rao Fakhoo and Kamlesh Mansingh, both 25 and from Quatre Bornes, were charged with 47-year-old's murder which occurred in her home two weeks ago.
Local media in the country have reported that Mr Fakhoo has confessed to his involvement in the crime.
They claim he told investigators they had known the victim and had devised a plan to burgle her home, which officers are now investigating. .
Ms Farman was killed in the early hours of 7 July in front of her 10-year-old autistic son.
A post-mortem examination indicated that she died as a result of asphyxiation caused by compression of the neck, according to the BBC.
The British Foreign Office has said it is in contact with local authorities in Mauritius about the case.
