A CLYDEBANK man was so intoxicated that police were called, only to find him with a Stanley blade instead.
Michael Doherty, of Dumbarton Road, pleaded guilty last week at Dumbarton Sheriff Court to possession of the offensive weapon.
Around 1.25pm on December 17 last year, officers were called to assist ambulance staff who were at a bus stop at the car park of Milngavie rail station.
Doherty, 21, was believed to be under the influence of drugs and police found him unsteady on his feet, slurring his speech and with his eyes rolling back into his head.
There was no obvious smell of alcohol and additional police soon arrived to help.
Doherty was swaying on his feet and continued putting his hands in his jacket pocket. When police started to search him, they found the Stanley knife. He was arrested and taken to Clydebank police office.
Sheriff Simon Pender called for reports to be prepared and deferred sentence to July 27. Doherty’s bail was continued.
