A 13-year-old girl was sent threatening messages over Snapchat last week, report police.
The teenager, in Faifley, got the messages threatening to kill her around 7pm on June 15 from another 13-year-old.
Officers are said to be following a positive line of enquiry.
In a separate incident, a 33-year-old man has been reported to the procurator fiscal for allegedly making several hoax calls to 999.
The man is reported to have made the calls from Singer Street between 11.50pm on June 16 and 12.45am on June 17.
