CLYDEBANK CID are appealing for witnesses to a car thief who kicked in a house door panel to get at the keys.

The incident happened back on May 2 around 2.45pm in Strauss Avenue. The car’s owner had left the black Audi A6 at home and her mother later returned and discovered the bottom panel of the front door kicked in.

When the daughter checked later, she confirmed the keys had been removed from the key hanger but no other rooms had been entered.

Investigators said: “On CCTV, there are a number of persons and dog walkers in the grass area that is situated between Great Western Road and Strauss Avenue and the canal.

"Due to the camera being some distance away it is hard to get a good description other than someone is walking a black and white Collie type dog near to Strauss Avenue when the vehicle was removed and driven off.

“Any witnesses or dog walkers are asked to contact CID on 101.”
