A MISSING Parkhall dog was killed by a train near Drumchapel last night.

Marley, who was 14 months old, had run off after his owner was involved in an accident in the retail park on Thursday.

Andrew Thomson was in the B&Q car park in Drumchapel retail park when his vehicle collided with a bollard.

The accident broke one of his ribs and as he was assisted by ambulance staff, his black Patterdale Terrier ran off.

Since the incident around 2.30pm on Thursday, May 18, the family tried to find Marley and get him back to Andrew. The 85-year-old is back home after hospital treatment.

Marley was last seen running in the direction of Goodyear Social Club.

Andrew Jnr told the Post Marley had wandered on to the line and despite the best efforts of others to get him to safety, Marley went in the opposite direction.

He said the family were devastated by the loss but thanked the public for all their help in trying to find Marley in recent days.
