OLD Kilpatrick youngsters got an introduction to the construction business with a special tour as part of their World at Work Week.
Turners Facilities Management is currently working in the area on behalf of West Dunbartonshire Council and Scottish Southern Energy carrying out external wall insulation and render works to properties in the community. They are busy on buildings in Thistleneuk and Ashtree Court and invited Gavinburn Primary to see them in action.
Pupils from P1 to P4 visited Thistleneuk last week in hi-vis vests and hard hats and were given a tour of the site and see staff at work.
A spokeswoman said: “All teachers and pupils enjoyed their visit especially those who live within the properties we are working on.
“The visit gave the children an opportunity to see what we do and how we do it plus it gave us an opportunity to speak with local children re site safety and the dangers of climbing on scaffolding.”
